How did you become a wedding photographer?
I was lucky enough to photograph a friend’s wedding and immediately discovered it was something I really enjoyed and felt passionate about. I loved the raw emotion, the excitement, the glamour, the drama, the humour – pretty much everything! Following referrals from friends and family, I photographed a few more weddings and before I knew it, I had a business! I’m so happy to be a wedding photographer and really love what I do. There’s nothing like getting that perfect shot. I feel very privileged to be part of one of the most important days in a couples’ life and it’s something that I take very seriously.
What equipment do you use?
I use professional level Canon cameras and lenses.
Will my photos be high resolution?
Yes, definitely! All photographs presented to the client are between 5-10MB each. Basically, this means that you can print out really large poster-size photographs of your favourite images.
Will you be my photographer on my wedding day?
Of course! I will always be the principal photographer for all weddings booked with Samantha Shannon Photography. Rest assured; there will be no strange photographers turning up to your wedding
Do you have an assistant?
Yes, I sometimes use an assistant to help me carry equipment or take extra photographs.
How long will it take to get my images after the wedding?
Digital negatives will be available on USB no later than 4 weeks after the wedding date. Album designs are ready for viewing within 4 weeks of the wedding date. Once the album design has been approved by the client and payment received, the wedding album usually takes 4-6 weeks for delivery.
When will my wedding appear on your blog?
I usually blog my favourite images from weddings within 1-2 weeks after the wedding date. However, sometimes it can take a little longer if it’s a particularly busy wedding season.
Do I get to keep my images?
Samantha Shannon Photography retains the copyright to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, competitions, etc. Clients will receive a written release that will allow them to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies for their friends and families.
Do you have a studio?
No, I do not have a storefront. I usually meet clients for coffee or at my home to have a chat about their wedding and look over albums.
How do I book Samantha Shannon Photography?
A 25 per cent deposit and a signed contract are required to book your wedding date. The final payment is due two weeks before the wedding date. Payment can be made by direct bank deposit, cheque or credit card via PayPal.
