Bonnie and Elliott: Glasshouse Mountains Engagement Photography

The couple: Bonnie and Elliott

Engagement session location: Pine forest near the Glasshouse Mountains, north of Brisbane. Bonnie and Elliott wanted a casual but fun engagement session that complemented their upcoming country wedding.

Describe each other in five words or thereabouts
(Elliott, as described by Bonnie): Sweet, loving, clever, hardworking and so much fun
(Bonnie, as described by Elliott): Caring, nurturing, gorgeous and his ‘one in a million’

How did you meet?  Bonnie: “We had both met each other in university but our paths crossed again at our friends’ wedding. Elliott was one of the groomsmen and I was actually photographing the wedding. Elliott ended up helping me with all the photography gear and followed me around all afternoon. Of course, there was a bit of flirting as the night went on. The next day I had already left to head back to Brisbane for work, but Elliott was asking for my number from friends. It wasn’t until three months later that I let my roommate give Elliott my number. He was still keen to go on a date and called me. Needless to say, our first date was perfect and he swept me off my feet!”

Describe your proposal Bonnie: “Our proposal is quite a funny story. It was a Friday night and Elliott had the day off and said he would make me dinner. When I got home from work he was cooking up a storm making his famous bacon carbonara. My dad decided to Skype me which was quite a normal routine for a Friday night at that time. I was sitting on the couch talking to dad and Elliott brought over my bowl of pasta. He asked if I wanted to call my dad back after we finished dinner, but I said he didn’t mind us eating pasta in front of him. As I was finishing my pasta, chatting away, I found a silver looking thing in my bowl and picked it out, saying ‘What is this?’ It didn’t take me long to figure it out and Elliott unwrapped the Glad Wrapped engagement ring. I quickly said goodbye to dad as I had just realised what happened. Poor Elliott was so nervous because he not only had to propose to me, but he had to do it in front of my father!”
